Catching Up

ok this is an ugly old picture of me and robin, but it does show what my room use to look like. so please not the blue walls.
Newly painted walls! There is one brown wall and 3 tan(ish) walls. I love the way it turned out, I just need to get some pictures or something up on the walls and the blinds back up.

Having no blinds makes it really hard for me to sleep in. And if you know me at all... you know I like to sleep in.

OK so I started back in school. my original plan was to take 4 classes, but when I went to register I was only able to get into 1. That class was monday night. I had planned on taking my other 3 classes on Tues and thursdays. So I spent all day Tuesday trying to petition classes. I tried petitioning 6 classes but was only able to get one. It is crazy how crowded Fullerton College is. Half the people in each class were petitioners. Oh well. It might be better only taking 8 units my first semester back to get use to school/work/life again. Anyway I will try to keep up with little posts here and there but if you dont hear from my for awhile, that is prob why.

Seaworld

Friday morning my mom, Paige, Aunt Cindy and I all drove down to san diego to spend the day at the Sea World. Months ago, somehow Sea World came up in conversation at my grandma's birthday dinner, Paige and I made our moms pinky swear they would take up this summer. It was a fun outing and I enjoyed the day with everyone.
We got there right when it opened at nine. We first checked out the polar bear exhibit (which might have been poor planning cuz it got hot that day and this exhibit was one of the cooler places to go) There was a ride you can take that was very similar to the star trek ride at disneyland. We ended up with a bunch of day care kids who screamed at the top of their lungs the whole time. it was actually pretty funny. you would think the world was ending or something. haha it didnt help that Paige thought she could out scream all the kids, (which she could and proved it to them the whole time!)
The polar bear exhibit was fun, they had an ice wall where people had pushed pennies into the ice, so we tried it too!
After the polar bear exhibit we went and saw the penguins, then headed over to the dolphin show. This show was probably my favorite. First, i love dolphins and think the stuff they do is amazing! Second, this new show incorporated acrobatic tricks and dives done by people. It mixed it up a bit and was definitely entertaining. after that we pretty much went straight to the Shamu show. This one was not my favorite. Maybe even my least favorite. It was SUPER hot and crowded, and it was a lot slower then i remember as a kid. Maybe i am just harder to impress in my old age ;)
After Shamu we were all ready for lunch. we all split club sandwiches and jello at mango joes and sat outside in the shade. It was soo nice with the breeze, so we sat for awhile chatting and enjoying the day. After lunch we went to the Sea Lion show. (SLL-Sea Lions Live) the preshow was my favorite part. Some guy came out and was messing around with the crowd. Then we pretended to watch Tv and kept changing the channel, everytime he would a different theme song would play. everyone would sing along while he did some silly dance. super cute. Paige was soo happy after, I think it was her favorite. When we walked out the flamingos were right in front of us. There was "flamingo" food you could buy for 50 cents, but after trying to feed the flamingos i think it was more for the ducks.
Paige and I were trying to waste a lot of time at the tide pools cuz the water was soo cold and it felt so good!!
check out our necklaces, we all got one. It is a wooden whales tale. It was part of the shamu show. they gave one away to a little girl during the show. me and paige were jealous until we realized we could just buy one!
These were shamu hats, kinda like santa hats but with fins.

The rest of the day was good. We went through the shark encounter, which brought back memories of being in girl scouts and spending the night there. At the end of the shark encounter there was a huge shark jaw with all the teeth, Paige wanted to touch a tooth, so reached in to feel it. An alarm went off! She bolted and i just pointed at her. so funny! Last We saw the cirque del mar show which i had mixed feelings about. The acrobatic stuff was amazing but i hated the pre show and the clowns. We were basically done after that so headed back towards the car, but not before we stopped and got some dippin' dots!

It was a very fun day! I have become very close with my cousin Paige over the past couple years and she really makes me laugh. Glad we were able to make it to Sea World.

New Bedding!!

I have been searching and searching online for the past 2 weeks for new bedding. My summer goal is to redecorate my room. Right now it is a mix matched mess of random stuff. I want to work on making it mine, and once I am gone, a decent spare bedroom. I am hoping the bedding will motivate me to paint, since this comforter will clash with my current bright baby blue walls. I am excited about this project! I will make sure to take before and after shots so you can see the transformation.

monday, monday

I work the early shift on Monday mornings, from 6am-noon. Its rough getting up so early but I enjoy having the rest of my day free. I always make a list of a bunch of things I plan to get done for the day but sometimes end up coming home, maybe starting laundry then falling asleep to make up for the couple hours of sleep the night before. My goal the past couple weeks have been to really use my monday afternoons. So today I did!

After work I drove over to Fullerton College to talk to a counselor. It has been about 4 or so years since I have been in school, and I am WAY overdue to go back. I am finally motivated and excited about it too. After talking to the counselor I realized exactly how much I have left to do. I am basically starting at the beginning. Oh well. I want to kick myself for my first few lazy and unmotivated semesters at Cypress, but whats done is done and now I have to deal with the consequences. I really liked my counselor and plan on making appointments with him through out the next semesters.

I then went home, ordered a memory foam matress pad from walmart. I havent been sleeping really well lately and my bed is pretty hard, so i am hoping this will help with my headaches, back aches and sleep. I am also going to invest in some new pillows. Hopefully that will help!

The rest of the afternoon has been spent taking care of random things that were on my list and in a couple hours Kurt and I are going to head to downtown disney to get coloring books for my nephews and a birthday present for my niece Rachel. Lizzie's birthday present came in the mail today and I am super excited to give it to her!

I hope everyone else's monday has been good!

Lately

I feel like I have been really busy lately... but when I think back on what I have been up too the past couple weeks its really not much. I made sure I went to Disneyland a couple times since my pass expired yesterday. I plan on renewing it but prob not til the end of summer. I really dont like going during the summer months when its really crowded and hot. By the end of the day too many people close to you in line have B.O., so I tend to wait until fall again to enjoy disneyland. The picture above is Kurt enjoying his two churros at Disneyland. Yes two. He never thinks one is enough.

I have been working a lot!! I forgot how much I love my job during summer. It gets super busy and a 10 hour day passes suprisingly fast. My friend Ashlee was hired to work a couple days a week to make a little extra money on the days she isn't doing hair. She has had 3 days of training the past two weeks and I think she is already getting overwhelmed between the two jobs so we will see if she stays or not. My boss Chris had me train her. Training in the resturant was kinda stressful, since I was training on 2 of my really busy days. My last Saturday I was able to train her on the beverage cart. It was a lot of fun to have company while driving around the course.
This is us at the end of the day feeling gross and wind blown. Below is the beginning of the day
My mom's birthday was yesterday!! She had a pretty busy work day but we were able get lunch together. I took her to Alicia's which is always a yummy treat. Seriously its my favorite little cafe in Brea. She then went back to school and I went and ran errands. I was at the mall that afternoon and decided to stop in the pet store cuz its always fun to look at the puppies. There was a Papillon dog. So i asked if i could hold him. Chloe is part papillon and [art chiwuawua so I wanted to see the difference between this dog and chloe. It was such a sweet little guy, and reminded me soo much of Chloe. I think she is mainly Papillon. The main difference was the size. this dog was 7.5 lbs. at 3 months old and Chloe is 4.5 lbs. full grown. Later that afternoon I took my mom to the pet store to check him out too. We also got my mom her free baskin robins ice cream for her birthday. That night my dad my taco salad and me kurt and my parents had dinner, open presents, ate cake and played games. All in all I think she had a great day! I know I had fun celebrating with her!
My mom and Chloe. Chloe seems to like to cuddle up to my mom every night, and gets upset if my mom is busy working and doesn't have a free lap for Chloe to curl up in.

Wild Times

Saturday Kurt and I spent the day in San Diego. It was kinda a late birthday/schools done and a Kurt passed Stats celebration (we had found out the day before) We started the day off with breakfast, which after enjoying a nice meal went back to my car to realize I had a flat tire. bummer. Kurt took care of business and put the donut tire I had in my trunk on, and carefully drove my car to firestone. A small delay and kind of annoying but oh well. We arrived at the Wild Animal park around 12. Kurt had never been and it had been YEARS since I had been there. We decided to do a photo caravan tour where you get to feed griaffes and rhinos, however the normal 2 hour tour was sold out, so we opted for the 1 hour. It was perfect I think any longer would have been too much. We were able to feed griaffes but not rhinos. It was fun and totally worth it. Best part of both of our days.
Me feeding the griaffe. This guy was only 2 years old but still about 10 feet tall! My hand was covered in griaffe slober after the feeding but it was soo cute.
Kurt feeding the griaffe. This is one of my favorite pictures.
The elephants! There were 3 new babies in the last 2 months. This was one of them.
Such a big gorilla!! I loved watching them play and interact with each other.
ya... I am pretty much a gorilla.
Me and Kurt towards the end of the day... We were pretty worn out by the end. :)

It was nice to have a fun relaxing day together after the craziness of finals, work, and life.

Oh and below are just little clips of the gorillas and elephants. I apologize now for zooming in on the elephants back side.

Getting High

Saturday night Kurt, Robin and I went and rode the big balloon at the great Park in Irvine. I have seen this balloon in the air on my way either to or from work and have been wanting to ride it for some time now. Kurt and I have tried to go seriously 5 times now. It was finally a success. We got there and went to register and the girl working was kinda of a brat, she told it would be 2 hours and they were expecting a marine layer at about that time so the chances of the balloon not flying were actually pretty high. We decided to try for it anyway so filled out the paper work. When we went to turn it in for a pager the guy told us it would be about an hour. Much better. We passed some time by walking around the park area, but that lasted 20 mins. Kurt then remembered he had bananagrams in his car so we played that until our pager when off. It was a lot of fun, and I am glad I was finally able to get up there!

Watch!

I like watches. I don't usually wear them simply because I dont own any, yet I find myself admiring peoples watches. I decided a couple months ago I was going to start wearing watches. I bought the first one at Vans for pretty cheap and liked it because it went with my work outfit.

Then on Easter my mom gave my an old school mickey watch from disneyland, it is a limited edition. I never really thought I would like a Disney item but I love it. It is soo cute!

My newest edition to my watch family, is a Nixon watch from Kurt. It is the picture above. I love it, its simple and nice. My next watch investment is going to be more of a brownish color. I am soo excited how my collection is growing!

Roadshow!

Me, Jessica, and Ashlee.

We had our roadshow performances this past Tuesday and Wednesday. I was soo glad I had decided to participate, I am guilty of wishing I hadn't gotten involved as I was driving to late night practices after long days at work. But like most things in life it is worth it if you just stick it out. Tuesday my mom and dad came to see the performance. According to them ours was one of the cuter ones! I was able to spot them out in the crowd right away then had a hard time not looking at them the whole time. I felt like I was five again. Just be proud I didnt wave and inappropriately adjust my tights.

Wednesday night was the second and last night. Ashlee had missed the tuesday performance but was there on wednesday. She brought Daniel with her and Kurt met us there. They hung out with us before hand in the primary room where we passed the time playing Mash and other games. We had another great performance, and plenty of new inside jokes. Kurt was sweet and brought me roses and raisenettes (one of my favorite candies) after the performance we all headed over to the bishops house for ice cream sundae's and a chance to watch the show.

I am glad I decided to do the roadshow, sometimes I feel like I only ever talk to a handful of people at church but now have new friendships and bonds with people.

The whole cast after the Wednesday night show.
me, ashlee, kurt and daniel. Playing games on the chalkboard, We were drawing letters of the alphabet then another person had to draw a picture using that letter. Always a fun way to pass the time.

All in all roadshows are the best! (until I actually have to be in charge of writting or directing one... lol jk!)

March Madness

No, I am not talking about basketball. I am talking about the craziness I call March. Between getting sick twice, having family in town for over a week (which i loved and was a blast), A Busy work schedule since we are currently understaffed, Roadshow, and all of the other little things in life that keep you going I have been exhausted. I feel so lame because any free time I have I just want to spend it watching a movie or reading. I am hoping April slows things down just a bit and just by the looks of it I am thinking it will.

Today I have an eye appointment which I am really excited about since I have been wearing the same pair of contacts for over 2 months now. I tried ordering some new contacts but sadly couldnt without a new perscription. So annoying. But as I am typing this wearing my glasses my eyes are just aching. They are looking forward to a fresh pair of contacts.

Well now I am off to roadshow practice!! I will post more later

Cruella De Vil

Scary right??
I decided to post a picture of me in my work clothes because I sometimes feel like its all I ever wear.

I love dressing up and am kinda jealous my mom gets to wear that fabulous Cruella De Vile costume next week to choir. It will be even better with Chloe as one of her props.

So we are short staffed at work, and its even worse when someone is on vacation, so this week I have a nice 6 days schedule. Its only tuesday but after working the 6 am shift two days in a row i am exhausted. At least after this long week I will be able to finish the weekend off with family. SOO excited for Shannon and her family to come to Cali, also glad the Henshaws are coming down for a couple days.

Roadshow Practice

I love Roadshows I think they are fabulously ridiculous. My stake is throwing a roadshow and I am so excited to be a part of it. The singles ward's roadshow takes place at linger longer and has many typical single ward jokes. Here is a little video at rehearsal. (we are singing glorious food from Oliver, but we changed the words)

Sunday Evenings

Now that I have picked up the Monday morning 6 am shift at work I love nothing more then spending quiet Sunday evenings at home. We all lounge around and work on whatever things we need to to start the week. Currently I am sitting on the couch typing on the laptop while my mom is working on her newsletter for SCCC at the computer. The closing ceremonies are on and my dad is sitting in his recliner playing with Chloe. To me this is picture perfect.
Today at church I was having a hard time talking to some people without getting offended. I know it was me and not them but I found myself walking away from a few conversations completely bugged. I hate feeling like that, but after a day like that it was so nice to come home to a great smelling house and enjoy a nice dinner with my parents. To me it is the perfect way to start a new week!

On another note... I was just my bank account and my tax return was deposited! woot!

Starting New

All right so I am aware I have been the world's worst blogger. But I am putting all of that behind me and starting new. So beware.

Just a quick update on my life.

I am living back at home with the world's 2 best roommates. So many thing I enjoy about living at home but a few things I miss about being on my own. Right now living at home outweighs living on my own by far so whenever I feel annoyed or like a 16 year old again I quickly remember how lucky I am that I was about to come home in the first place.

I am dating the best guy ever. His name is Kurt, we have been friends for many years before we started dating. Things are good and I am happy.

I also have realized that I need to work on finding hobbies. I started thinking of things I enjoy doing or want to start doing and the 2 main ones are baking and piano. I am still working on getting back into the habbit of just thinking about going to the piano on my spare time but I have enjoyed the times I have. Its sad to me how much I have forgotten. I can sightread some right handed stuff but my left hand is hopeless. *sigh* I guess I need to just start playing when my mom is around. As for the baking, I have never been big on baking before, but lately I have found myself making cookies for fun and really enjoying sharing them with friends. I am really excited because I am going to sign up for a cake decorating class. Its something I really want to do so I am finally going for it. I am starting with a basic 4 week class through michael's.

I have discovered an obsession with Hummas. Random I know but lately its all I ever feel like.

I am excited to start blogging again- I have missed you all.
