Billabong XXL Awards

My friend Troy is a designer at Billabong and invited me to go to these Big Wave Surfing Awards with him.  Then last minute he said I could bring a friend so Ashlee came with me, which I was glad since I didnt want to be tagging along with Troy and his friend Ryan.  It was fun... and different.  It was a global awards show so there were people from ALL over.  We made friends with people from Australia, Peru, and Germany.  It was fun to do something different for a change.

Bored at Work

Friday afternoon was really slow here at High Valley Construction....  so Amanda and I started playing with our Photo Booth on our computer... The Pictures really make me laugh.  Here are a few...

American Idol!!

Last night Amanda and I had tickets to go to American Idol!  I was really excited cuz this season I have actually been a faithful watcher.  It ended up being sooo fun!  There was a lot of waiting... but once the show started it went by pretty fast.  the 2 davids are my favorite, although David Cook went down a few points after I realized he might be a little cocky.  The best part was when I realized Taylor Swift was sitting about 3 people behind me.  I kept turning around any chance I got so I can see her.  She is so pretty in real life.  At the end of the show I noticed a few people getting autographs so I ran over.  She gladly signed my american idol sticker... after a few more people got autographs a security guy walked up and she left.  I was soo glad I was able to meet her.  Eric McCormick (Will from Will and Grace) was also there right behind taylor swift... during one of my longing glances at Taylor me and Eric made eye contact and I got a smile.  I was very very excited!  Overall it was such a great afternoon and I would gladly  do it again!

Its Over

HahaHa  well.... me and Alex broke up.  After spending more time with him in person I realized I dont like him enough to ever move to utah... which then leaves why still continue the long distance.  We still had a fun weekend.  Saturday night going to LA and walking around then eating at Roscoe's.  Sunday we watched conference with Mom and Dad then had the Olson Family over and Grandma Snowball.  Monday we went to the Angels game which Alex really liked.  I guess it had been awhile since he had been to a pro baseball game.  and the Angels won!  which makes it more fun (grand slam in the 9th!)  I dropped him off at the airport this morning... and everything was still good.  He was more happy we realized it before it got more serious.  so yayy....

Ok so here's a pretty funny story  about a week or so ago I got a carport and was soo excited, cuz I had been searching for parking in the 6 24 hour spots or on the street which didnt mean I wouldnt get a parking ticket.  So Sunday night I was soooo mad to see someone in my car port.  Me and Ashlee  tried calling a towing company but they couldnt  do anything since i didnt have proof it was mine with me.  I was still upset when I moved my car out to the street that night.  The next day me and Alex went to go to Fashion Island and Pei Wei.  We got back that afternoon and the car was in my spot AGAIN!!  (or still)  but i think they had moved once since the note we left on the car was gone.  I was VERY mad this time.  I went straight to the leasing office to get proof that it was mine and get that car towed.  So the towing company came and I signed the paper and left.  About 2 hours later, the leasing office called....  I guess they had double booked my car port with another car so I got a car towed that did belong there too!  (opps!)  The apartment complex had to pay to get the car back (since it was their fault anyway) and I got assigned a new port....  I just felt soo bad for getting sooo mad at this innocent car.  oh well alls well that ends well.

Tonight me and amanda are going to american idol!  we actually both get off work at 12 (i came in at 9 today so its a super short day!) Anyway I am very excited it should be a lot of fun!!

Well Alex comes this weekend... He will fly in Friday night and stay til Tuesday.  We have some fun things planned so I am really excited.  I am sure I will be updating on Tuesday with pictures and stories.

Addiction

I have a new addiction... Sushi.  Anyone who goes out to eat with me a lot knows I use to never eat it... use to hate it (especially my parents and melanie, they would even make special sushi trips for when I was not around)  For some reason the past few weeks I have been able to tolerate it and then through out the past few days have learned to really like it.  So much so that I've had it for lunch the past two days and dinner last night.  I dont know where this sudden change in taste came from...  (I also found myself snacking on almonds at work... almonds?!) but I am not complaining.  

Spring

Spring is definately my favorite season by far.  The weather is nice and warm and everything is cheers me up.  A couple days ago me and trisha stepped out on our dock to check the weather for the day and noticed 8 little ducklings swimming around our lake.  We were soo excited.  They are the cutest little things.  Everyday we go out and count them to make sure they are all there, feed them some bread crumbs, then just sit on the dock and watch them.  During the day they all swim around and do there own thing, but everynight we see them they are clustered together and all stay by each others side.  Its seriously precious.  Here are some pictures of the normal ducks then a picture of the ducklings...  They are taken on my phone so they arent the best, but at least you can see how tiny they are.
